Le Tanargue and L’Ardèche

381 km

It is in Jaujac that your trip to the Massif du Tanargue “The Mountain of Thunder” will start. The mountain has a lot of contrasts on its slopes. The northern side is covered with forest, the southern side is dry with bushes above 700 metres and Chestnuts below. Having reached the Croix de Millet pass you will go through Prunet, Rocher and Joannas. Take advantage of a break in a medieval castle from the 11th and 12th centuries where you will enjoy a meal fit for a king prepared especially for you at a reasonable price.

You will then have to climb to Loubaresse, a village at an altitude of 1250 meters. Once you have managed the challenging Meyrand pass, you will head for Le Bez. There you will meet your friends from the “Hautes Terres” itinerary, on the line where rivers flow to the Altantic or to the Mediterranean. With them you will continue your wonderful trip on the same itinerary going to the “High plateau of the Ardèche”.
