Road closures on saturday

Any participants who exceed the time limit and are caught up by the sweep car must hand back their electronic chip. If they wish to continue the race they do so at their own risk and will not be permitted to make use of any safety measures put in place by the organizers.

By Order of the Prefect, only cyclists correctly registered for the Ardéchoise will be permitted to use roads closed on Saturday (St-Félicien – Le Cheylard and the crossroads of D214/D9 – St-Félicien). It is strictly forbidden to turn back on these closed roads before the sweep car has passed through.

For safety and organisational reasons, referees will enforce closing times at the places and times shown below:

• 11.00 in Lamastre (30km) for Les Boutières and the longer circuits.

• 11.30 at Le Cheylard (50km) for La Volcanique, Les Sucs, L’Ardéchoise, and the Ardéchoise Vélo Marathon.

• 12.00 at the Col de Mézilhac (74km) for L’Ardéchoise, and the Ardéchoise Vélo Marathon.

• 13.00 at the Col du Gerbier-de Jonc (88km) for Les Sucs.

• 13.30 at the Col du Gerbier-de Jonc (130km) for the Ardéchoise Vélo Marathon.

• 14.30 in Chanéac(135km) (crossroads of D278/D378) for Les Sucs.

• 15.00 in Chanéac (180km)(crossroads of D278/D378) for the Ardéchoise Vélo Marathon.

• 18.00 in Freydaparet – at 42km off the finish-line.

Normal rules of the road must be respected at all times, with the exception only of the first 50 and the final 42 kilometres, as roads will not be closed to the public.

It is strictly forbidden for cyclists to be accompanied by a vehicle, as well as being dangerous and disrespectful to other cyclists. Any cyclist found to be accompanied by a back-up vehicle will be disqualified.

On Wednesday, a Thursday and Friday, we advise strongly not to be following by car on our narrow and sinuous roads,some will be closed by municipal order.
